Managing a Crisis

Home Page

Sometimes, for whatever reason, you may feel as if your tinnitus is just too much to  endure.

You might experience an unexpected intensity of your feelings to the point that you are completely overwhelmed and would be willing to do anything to make it stop.

This point of crisis can be a difficult and painful place, but there is hope

Are you experiencing a crisis right now?

  • Are you emotionally “at the end of your rope”?
  • Are you contemplating harming yourself?
  • Are you feeling like you don’t know what to do?

If so, then you need to ask for help.

Take at least one of these steps immediately:

  • Call someone such as family member, friend, or co-worker
  • Call your family doctor
  • Call your clergy person
  • Call a counselor
  • Call your local crisis centre
  • Call your local urgent care centre
  • Call your local hospital emergency room

There are people who love and care for you and your well-being.  They can help you work through these feelings.

Be truthful about how you feeling and explain your situation with honesty.  Don’t minimize or discount your pain to those who are concerned and want to help.
